John Torres is an NBC News/MSNBC medical correspondent and an emergency room physician. His reporting covers a wide range of health-related issues across all of NBC’s broadcast, cable, and digital platforms. A US Air Force veteran who completed a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004, Torres has contributed to rescue efforts out of the South Pole and in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Throughout his career, he has also made numerous humanitarian trips to Central and South America, providing medical care to children in need. Utilizing his combined medical and military experience, Torres teaches NATO Special Forces.
