Maria Godoy is senior health editor and correspondent at NPR News and a host of NPR's “Life Kit.” With colleagues, Godoy won a 2019 Gracie Award. For nearly a decade, Godoy hosted NPR's “The Salt,” where she investigated everything from the health effects of caffeine to the environmental and cultural impact of what we eat. “The Salt” was recognized as Publication of the Year in 2018 by the James Beard Foundation. In 2013, “The Salt” received first place in the blog category from the Association of Food Journalists and won a Gracie Award for Outstanding Blog from the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. Godoy’s work at NPR has been recognized with other awards, including two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Silver Batons and the Columbia Journalism School's Dart Award for excellence in reporting on trauma.
