Fanny Elahi

Assistant Professor of Neurology, Neuroscience, and Pathology, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine; Director of Fluid Biomarker Research, Barbara and Maurice Deane Center for Cognitive Health, Mount Sinai

Fanny Elahi is a physician scientist and assistant professor in the departments of neurology, neuroscience, and pathology, molecular and cell-based medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she also directs fluid biomarker research for the Deane Center for Cognitive Health and co-leads the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. She is jointly appointed at the James J. Peters Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Elahi focuses on understanding vascular aging, and her goal is to extend the brain’s longevity and prevent dementia due to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease. Previously, Elahi was an assistant professor and behavioral neurology fellow at the University of California, San Francisco Memory and Aging Center. Prior to that she was a resident physician in the UCLA Health System. (Mount Sinai is a 2023 Festival Underwriter)
