On Being in a Body: Krista Tippett with Kate Bowler (live taping)
Setup
DOORS OPEN AT 6PM. The “On Being” podcast is acclaimed for its “mind- and heart-expanding” exploration of “theology, ethics, science, the soul, and what it means to be a human” (The New York Times). In this live taping, Krista Tippett turns that lens on the singularly delightful Kate Bowler, author of Everything Happens for a Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved. This preternaturally wise theologian faced her own mortality at a young age and is living with the chronic illness that cancer has become. The sense she’s learned to make of this speaks to so many dimensions of life at this time for us all: an awareness of our fragility, the fact of death, and the redemptive, contradictory realities of aging, illness, vitality, and hope.
