When most of us consider the creative process, we think of it in terms of the artists, designers, and indeed geniuses whose creative instincts have landed them in museums, on stages, even on streets where their remarkable structures soar above us. But increasingly, the fields of neuro- and behavioral science have expanded our understanding of the creative process in ways that are redefining what “creativity” really means. How does the creative brain work? Can we teach creativity? Might there be ways to tap the creative spirit that resides in each of us — the seeds of originality that spark enthusiasm and further curiosity?
