American Psychiatric Association Foundation

The APA Foundation is a proud Health sponsor of the Aspen Ideas Festival.

At the American Psychiatric Association Foundation, our mission is to promote the mental health and well-being of individuals and communities, and our vision is to create a mentally healthy nation for all - where we live, learn, work, worship, and play. As the charitable arm of the APA, the largest psychiatric association in the world, we are backed by medical expertise and the support o our industry-leading strategic partners. We administer community-changing programs, public education campaigns, grants, and awards aimed at increasing mental health literacy, connecting individuals to needed care, and shifting attitudes toward mental health.

Undergirding all of our work is our public awareness campaign, Mental Health Care Works, which focuses on empowering those with mental health concerns to take the first step toward getting help.

The Center for Workplace Mental Health collaborates with corporations to create cultures of wellness, ensuring that workplaces maximize their employees’ ability to thrive and remain engaged at work. Strategies include the Frontline Connect initiative, designed to provide healthcare institutions with guidance to improve access to care for frontline clinicians, and Notice. Talk. Act.® at Work, which trains managers to support the mental health of their teams.
