Zoë Baird is CEO and president of the Markle Foundation, where she leads Skillful, a partnership with LinkedIn and the State of Colorado to create a skills-based labor market that prioritizes skills over degrees. At Markle, she convened Rework America, committed to creating paths to opportunity in the digital economy. Baird was previously senior vice president and general counsel at Aetna, counselor and staff executive at GE, a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, associate counsel to President Carter, and an attorney-advisor in the US Justice Department. She is a founding co-chair of the US Commerce Department’s Digital Economy Board of Advisors and a director of the Council on Foreign Relations.
