Xavier Jennings is a dynamic leader dedicated to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all facets of his personal and professional journey. His pathway into servant leadership began in his late teens when he joined the YouthBuild AmeriCorps program in 2008, where he earned his GED and developed essential skills for self-sufficiency. Now, as the director of the same YouthBuild AmeriCorps program he once attended at Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC), Xavier oversees the program’s operations, implementing essential components such as education, vocational training, career readiness, healthy living, leadership development, and service learning. His commitment ensures the program meets grant and organizational requirements while empowering youth participants to enhance their skills and amplify their voices.In addition to his professional work, Xavier is a proud father and co-founder of A Gang of Books, a nonprofit program whose mission is to provide books and literacy development opportunities for those living in book deserts, gang-affected areas, and other underserved communities.An active volunteer, Xavier coaches little league sports and mentors middle school students through the Boys and Girls Clubs. His involvement in leadership extends to roles with the Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado, Service Year Alliance Alumni Council, and he currently serves on YouthBuild USA’s Board of Directors.
