Versha Sharma

Versha Sharma is a journalist, speaker, and social justice advocate. She is a senior correspondent at NowThis, a news platform on Facebook Watch where she was managing editor from 2015 to 2019. She managed the company’s emerging platforms strategy and oversaw 2016 election coverage. Sharma’s interviewees include President Obama and Oprah, and she has moderated panels with high-profile women of color in politics. She’s filed video dispatches on immigration from the U.S.-Mexico border, reported from mass protests in St. Louis, and hosted and produced “The Russia Desk.” As part of the “NowThis Reports” team in 2018, Sharma won an Edward R. Murrow Award for a short documentary about the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
