Tom Fanning is chairman, president, and CEO of Southern Company, one of the largest energy providers in the United States. With nearly 40 years’ experience at Southern Company, Fanning advocates for a commonsense national energy policy that embraces the full portfolio of energy resources and supports energy’s potential to drive prosperity for all Americans. He is a member of the Atlantic Council’s international advisory board and the American Energy Innovation Council as well as co-chair of the Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council. A US Senate-appointed member of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, Fanning was named 2018 CEO of the Year at the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards.
