Steven Brill is an award-winning journalist, author, and founder of Court TV, The American Lawyer and ten related legal periodicals, Brill’s Content, Journalism Online, and The Yale Journalism Initiative. His feature articles have appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times Magazine, TIME, Esquire, New York Magazine, and Harpers. Brill’s 2013 TIME cover story, “Bitter Pill: Why Medical Bills Are Killing Us,” won the National Magazine Award for Public Service; he expanded the story into a book, America’s Bitter Pill. He is also the author of a 15-part series and podcast published by Huffington Post, “America’s Most Admired Law Breaker,” and an adjunct professor at Yale College.
