Spencer Bailey

Spencer Bailey is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of the New York–based media company The Slowdown and host of the “Time Sensitive” podcast. He is also editor at large for the book publisher Phaidon and a contributing editor at Town & Country. Previously, Bailey was the editor in chief of Surface. The author of In Memory Of: Designing Contemporary Memorials and Tham ma da: The Adventurous Interiors of Paola Navone, his latest book is Alchemy: The Material World of David Adjaye and is due out on June 28. Bailey’s writing on architecture, art, culture, design, and technology has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Fortune, and Bloomberg Businessweek. He is a trustee of the Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, NY.
