Smita Sen is an artist working with sculpture, dance-based performance and advanced technology to research how the body internalizes its environment and significant life events. She leads the Manipura Care Network and teaches at the Parsons School of Design, The New School. Previously, Sen was a member of the New Museum's incubator from 2022 to 2023 and taught and designed the emerging media program at Choate Rosemary Hall. She has had solo exhibitions at Recess, Brooklyn Public Library and Drew University. Sen has been in residence at Drew University, Bakehouse Arts Complex and Mildred’s Lane. She is the recipient of a 2022 Ellies Creator Award from Oolite Arts and 2018 Instigator Fellowship from New York University ITP Camp.
