Sarah Longwell is a Republican political strategist and president and CEO of communications firm Longwell Partners. Describing her work as focusing on “defending American democracy from the authoritarian threat posed by Donald Trump,” she conducts focus groups and leads campaigns to reach voters about American values. Longwell heads the Republican Accountability Project and Republican Accountability PAC, which support Republicans who fight for democracy and work to hold election deniers accountable. In 2018, she co-founded Defending Democracy Together with Bill Kristol. Longwell is publisher of the centrist news and opinion site The Bulwark and hosts the podcast “The Focus Group.” She had a 14-year career with PR firm Berman and Company and was previously board chair of the Log Cabin Republicans.
