Sarah Grace McCandless is a storyteller and chief strategy officer and producer for author Kwame Alexander and his company, Big Sea Entertainment. She also produces Alexander’s podcast, “Why Fathers Cry.” McCandless is the author of two novels: Grosse Pointe Girl: Tales from a Suburban Adolescence and The Girl I Wanted to Be, which she has adapted for the screen. A Writing by Writers Mill House Residency recipient, she is the creator of the Hopeless Semantic project, has been a producer and storyteller for Mortified and Back Fence PDX, and taught fiction and creative writing through Mediabistro and Gotham Writers. McCandless also has over 15 years of corporate experience in consulting and brand marketing, including as principal of her own firm, Grace Pointe Consulting. Early in her career she was marketing director at Dark Horse Comics.
