Robert Runcie is superintendent of Broward County (FL) Public Schools, the nation’s sixth-largest school district. He previously founded a management and technology consulting company and held leadership positions with Chicago Public Schools, including CIO and chief administrative officer. At BCPS, Runcie has spearheaded technology innovations such as the Digital Classrooms Initiative, partnered with nonprofit Code.org, and worked on eliminating the school-to-prison pipeline by ending zero-tolerance policies for nonviolent offenses. Along with numerous distinctions for the school district under his tenure, his honors include being named superintendent of the year multiple times. Runcie serves on boards including Code.org, Council of the Great City Schools, and United Way of Broward County.
