Rima Cohen is managing director of the Health Innovators Fellowship at the Aspen Institute. From 2009 to 2014, she was a health policy counselor to the US health and human services secretary and, for six months, acting assistant secretary for planning and evaluation. Previously, Cohen was health and social services director for then New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Senate Democratic leader Tom Daschle’s senior health policy advisor, and founder and director of Insurance Options for the Uninsured (IOU), a project sponsored by the Greater New York Hospital Foundation. Cohen sits on the board of Social Interest Solutions and the advisory board of a health care IT start-up.
