Paul Romer

Paul Romer is an economist, policy entrepreneur, and co-recipient of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his work in integrating technological innovations into long-run macroeconomic analysis. He is a University Professor of economics at New York University (on leave) and founding director of NYU’s Marron Institute of Urban Management. Previously, Romer taught at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business, during which time he started Aplia, an education technology company dedicated to increasing student effort and classroom engagement. He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a nonresident scholar at the Center for Global Development, among other projects.
