Neal Katyal is the Paul and Patricia Saunders Professor of Law at Georgetown University and a partner at Hogan Lovells. A former acting solicitor general of the United States, he has argued 41 cases before the US Supreme Court, more than any other minority attorney. Katyal’s legal successes include striking down the Guantanamo military tribunals and defending the constitutionality of the Voting Rights Act, among others. His numerous distinctions include the US Justice Department’s Edmund Randolph Award (its highest civilian award), American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Year for 2017 and 2018, Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyer Award, and one of GQ’s 2017 Men of the Year. Katyal has appeared on most major American news programs and played himself on “House of Cards.”
