Michael Taylor

Michael Taylor is a senior fellow at Freedman Consulting, focused on building public-private partnerships to improve food safety and food security. Until May 2016, he was deputy commissioner for foods and veterinary medicine at the US Food and Drug Administration, which he rejoined in 2009 as a staff attorney; from 1991 to 1994, he was deputy policy commissioner. Between his FDA tenures, Taylor conducted public health policy research and was a senior fellow at the Partnership to Cut Hunger and Poverty in Africa. Previously, he was administrator of USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, a partner at King & Spalding, and vice president for public policy at Monsanto.
