Mehran Fanous is a violinist with the Afghanistan National Institute of Music. He has performed as a soloist at the US and German embassies, Kolkata Youth Orchestra at the Alliance Francaise in New Delhi, and Royal Opera House in Muscat, Oman. Fanous has collaborated with Ricky Kej and is a member of his family’s ensemble, recently formed as a result of their reunion after five years apart. Since his arrival in the United States in 2021, he has been featured in the Indiana Daily Student and Indiana University News, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s in violin performance under the instruction of Mimi Zweig.
