Megan Ranney

Incoming Dean, Yale School of Public Health

Megan Ranney is an emergency physician, researcher, and national advocate for innovative approaches to public health. In July 2023, Ranney will become dean of the Yale School of Public Health. Currently, she is deputy dean at the School of Public Health and the Warren Alpert Endowed Professor of Emergency Medicine at Alpert Medical School at Brown University. Her research focuses on developing, testing, and disseminating digital health interventions to prevent violence and related behavioral health problems, as well as on COVID-related risk reduction. National leadership roles include co-founder of GetUsPPE and senior strategic advisor to AFFIRM at the Aspen Institute, focused on ending gun violence through a non-partisan public health approach. Ranney is a contributor to media outlets including CNN, CBS, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Ranney is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Health Innovators Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
