Mason Bretan is a PhD student in music technology at Georgia Tech. He recently defended his doctoral research related to robotic musicianship and compositional algorithms based on deep learning. He will officially graduate in August 2017. In addition to his research at Georgia Tech, Bretan spent six months with Google Research and has performed all over the world as part of the Shimon and Friends tour with Gil Weinberg at venues including The Kennedy Center and Funkhaus Berlin.
