Mary Ziegler is Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law at UC Davis School of Law and a leading historian of struggles over reproductive health in the United States. She is the author of six books on the history of social movement mobilizations around reproduction, including After Roe: The Lost History of the Abortion Debate, winner of the Harvard University Press Thomas J. Wilson Prize, and most recently, Dollars for Life and Roe: The History of a National Obsession. Her work also has a comparative and international dimension, and she recently edited a major collection on abortion law around the world. Ziegler contributes to media outlets including The Atlantic, CNN, The New York Times, NPR, and “PBS Newshour.” Her new book project studies the struggles over fetal personhood in the United States.
