Walter H. Annenberg Professor in Natural Sciences and Director, Center for Neuroscience and Society, University of Pennsylvania

Martha Farah is the Walter H. Annenberg Professor of Natural Sciences and directs the Center for Neuroscience and Society at University of Pennsylvania. Her research in cognitive neuroscience has ranged from vision at the back of the brain to executive function at the front and, lately, on the effects of early socioeconomic deprivation on brain development and the role of neuroscience in society. Farah is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a former Guggenheim fellow, and the recipient of honors including the National Academy of Science’s Troland Research Award and the Association for Psychological Science’s lifetime achievement award.
