Marta Segura
Chief Heat Officer and Director, Climate Emergency Mobilization, City of Los Angeles
Marta Segura is chief heat officer and Climate Emergency Mobilization Office director for the city of Los Angeles. In this role, she helped launch the Heat Relief 4 LA multiethnic and multilanguage public safety campaign and Cool Spots LA app to improve access to city cooling sites and resources. Previously, Segura was the Southern California climate engagement director at the Center for Biological Diversity. Prior to this, she was the Los Angeles city planning commissioner, and before that, district director and senior adviser to the Los Angeles District 13 council president. Earlier in her career, Segura was the statewide organizing director and then statewide associate director of Communities for a Better Environment. She is a member of Green Latinos and volunteers with The Climate Reality Project.
