Maria Cuomo Cole is the award-winning producer of the feature documentary, Newtown, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. In her documentary film production career, she has also tackled such subjects as sexual assault on college campuses, with the Emmy- and Peabody-winning film The Hunting Ground; rape and sexual violence in the US military, with 2014’s Oscar-nominated The Invisible War; and gun laws in the United States, with the 2011 documentary, Living for 32, which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Since 1992, Cuomo Cole has chaired HELP USA, a nonprofit providing housing services and employment programs for the homeless, veterans, and families and survivors of domestic violence.
