Marcella Nunez-Smith is associate dean for health equity research; an associate professor of medicine, public health, and management; and founding director of the Equity Research and Innovation Center at Yale School of Medicine’s Office for Health Equity Research. She is senior advisor to the White House COVID-19 Response Team and chair of the US Department of Health and Human Services’ COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force. Previously, she co-chaired the Biden-Harris Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board and was community committee chair for the governor’s ReOpen Connecticut Advisory Group. The principal investigator on several grants, Nunez-Smith also helps manage or direct other Yale programs or institutions, including the Center for Research Engagement, Yale Cancer Center, and the Pozen-Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Health Equity Leadership.
