Louis Aguirre is a news anchor at WPLG Local 10 and WSFL, a TV station in south Florida, and anchors a newscast on WSFL-TV. On Earth Day 2021, he became WPLG’s environmental advocate and the face of its Don’t Trash Our Treasure campaign. Prior to this, Aguirre was an anchor for “The Insider,” co-hosted “Deco Drive” on WSVN in Miami, and co-anchored “Fox and Friends.” He previously worked at Local 10 from 1989 to 1992 and began his television career at Telemundo. Aguirre has also worked for "Extra,” was lead correspondent for “A Current Affair,” and guest starred on shows including “Sex and the City” and “All My Children.” Accolades include four Emmy awards for environmental reporting, an Esserman-Knight Foundation Journalism Award for the series “Saving Biscayne Bay,” and the Good 2 Green Award from the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
