Journalist; Author, Children of Paradise: The Struggle for the Soul of Iran
Laura Secor is a journalist and the author of Children of Paradise: The Struggle for the Soul of Iran. She has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, and other publications. Secor has been a staff editor for The New York Times op-ed page, a staff reporter at The Boston Globe’s Ideas section, deputy editor ofThe American Prospect, and senior editor at Lingua Franca. She was a fellow at New York Public Library’s Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers from 2008 to 2009 and a fellow at the American Academy in Berlin in 2009 and 2014. Secor has taught journalism at NYU and at Princeton.
