Kay Bailey Hutchison
Former US Senator; Former US Ambassador to NATO
Kay Bailey Hutchison is a former U.S. senator and former U.S. ambassador to NATO. As ambassador to NATO, she focused on U.S. leadership and strengthening ties with Europe. Previously, Hutchison was a U.S. senator, representing Texas from 1993 to 2013. She was the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and chaired the Republican Policy Committee as well as the Military Construction Subcommittee on Appropriations. Hutchison also chaired West Point’s visitors board. Prior to this, she was Texas state treasurer from 1991 to 1993. Hutchison is the author of three books, including “American Heroines.” A CSIS fellow, she is a board member of Bank of America, LBJ Foundation, NASA Advisory Council and The Atlantic Council.
