Kathy Corradi

Citywide Director of Rodent Mitigation, Office of the Mayor, New York City

Kathy Corradi serves as New York City’s first citywide director of rodent mitigation (aka “rat czar”). Building on over a decade of community engagement, program development, and facilities operations experience, she leads the city’s rodent mitigation efforts with a focus on science, evidence-based strategies, and coalition building. Corradi began her career as an elementary school teacher in central Brooklyn and program lead at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. At New York City Public Schools Office of Sustainability, Corradi developed the nation’s largest zero waste program. As director of space planning, she worked with communities and school leadership to optimize building utilization and improve facilities. Corradi has spent her career fostering connections between people and their environment in efforts to deepen belonging and ownership.
