President and CEO, CDC Foundation

Judy Monroe is president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, where she advances priority programs that improve people’s health around the world and prepare other nations to better prevent, detect, and respond to health threats, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, she was director of the CDC Office of State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Support, and CDC deputy director. While she was Indiana’s state health commissioner, from 2005 to 2010, Monroe was president of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials through the H1N1 pandemic. Her board service includes the Center for Global Health Innovation and Georgia Global Health Alliance; she’s also a member of the Milken Institute's Public Health Advisory Board and the World Health Organization Foundation's advisory group.
