Joshua Jean-Baptiste is a Haitian-American writer and director who creates narratives that probe deep into culture and identity, often drawing from his experiences to explore ideological attachments’ nuances. He co-wrote and starred in the series “Grown” and co-wrote the feature film “Ludi,” which screened at SXSW and the Miami Film Festival. A 2023 alumnus of the Oolite Arts Home and Away Residency, Jean-Baptiste is developing several diverse short films and his inaugural feature-length piece. His directorial journey began with experimental theater at the Miami Theater Center and Micro Theater Miami. Jean-Baptiste also coaches aspiring storytellers and produces Folktales and Fire, an event series he conceived, fostering collaborations with brands and nonprofits.
