Senior Research Scientist and Senior Education Manager, American Museum of Natural History

Jackie Faherty is a senior scientist and senior education manager at the American Museum of Natural History. Her research group, Brown Dwarfs in New York City, studies low-mass star, brown dwarf and giant exoplanet characterization. Faherty is a co-founder of the citizen science project Planet 9, which invites the public to help scan the solar neighborhood for previously missed cold worlds. She has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles in astrophysical journals. Faherty is a guest speaker at universities and conferences across the globe and gives public lectures in the Hayden Planetarium. She is an advocate for utilizing visualization tools for both science and education advancements.
