J. Bryan Hehir is the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life at Harvard Kennedy School of Government and secretary for social services and president of Catholic Charities in the Boston Archdiocese. Previously, he was president and CEO of Catholic Charities USA, a professor, then dean, at Harvard Divinity School, faculty member of the School of Foreign Service and Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University, and staff member of the US Catholic Conference of Bishops. Hehir’s research and writing focus on ethics and foreign policy and religion’s role in politics and society. Publications include The Moral Measurement of War and Social Values and Public Policy.
