Professor of Neurosurgery, Neurology and Oncological Sciences and Director, Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Isabelle Germano is a professor of neurosurgery, neurology and oncological sciences at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she directs the Comprehensive Brain Tumor Program, co-directs the Radiosurgery Program and is vice chair for faculty affairs and DEI in the Department of Neurosurgery. Having joined Mount Sinai in 1992, Germano established the school’s first multidisciplinary brain tumor program and directs two accredited fellowship programs. In her clinical practice, she cares for patients with brain and spine tumors using minimally invasive procedures. Her work includes first-in-human technology applications for computer-assisted, image-guided neurosurgery. Recognized as a leader in brain-tumor neurosurgery and as a neurosurgery educator, Germano has received more than 50 awards, published six books and over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and held leadership roles in numerous associations in her field. (Mount Sinai is a 2024 Festival Underwriter)
