Rabbi Hazzan Jeffrey Myers serves as rabbi and cantor for Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue, since 2017. He previously spent decades in ministry in New Jersey and Long Island. Since October 27, 2018, when a heavily armed gunman murdered 11 people in the Tree of Life building, Myers has been the face of the tragedy, sending the message that love is stronger than hate. Myers is a trustee on the executive board of the Jewish Educators Assembly. He has served on the National Education Commission of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and the National Deliberation Team for Project Etgar. He is the recipient of a Schechter Award for his interfaith Evening of Harmony commemorating the Holocaust.
