Francesca de Quesada Covey is chief innovation and economic development officer for Miami-Dade County, where she co-founded the Miami-Dade Innovation Authority and previously advised the mayor on technology growth. Prior to this, she led venture capital firm TheVentureCity’s early-stage investing vehicle. Earlier, de Quesada Covey worked at Facebook for nearly eight years in roles including strategic response and head of partnerships; she joined the company to help grow new payments and connectivity products. She started her career in finance and served as deputy counselor for strategic engagement in the Obama White House’s Office of Public Engagement, working closely with the business community, from 2011 to 2013.
