Florence Williams is a contributing editor at Outside Magazine and a freelance writer for The New York Times, National Geographic, and other publications. She is the writer and host of a new podcast series for Outside: “The Woman Factor.” A fellow at the Center for Humans and Nature and a visiting scholar at George Washington University, her work focuses on the environment, health, and science. Williams’s latest book is The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More Creative. Her first book, Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History, received acclaim and prizes, and she serves on the board of High Country News, where she was once an intern.
