Human Rights Activist; Founder and Chairman, Ideas Beyond Borders
Faisal Al Mutar is an Iraqi-born human rights activist, satirist, speaker, and writer. An advocate for universal human rights, secularism, and the free market of ideas who is enthusiastic about the intersection of technology and advocacy, he is the founder of multiple online platforms. Al Mutar was previously a program manager for the Middle East and North Africa for Movements.org, assisting dissidents in closed societies. A refugee to the United States in 2013, he received the US President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2015. Al Mutar is a columnist for Free Inquiry magazine, has been published in Huffington Post and Big Think, and has been widely featured in the media.
