Elizabeth Lesser is an author and co-founder of the Omega Institute, a conference and retreat center in Rhinebeck, NY. Since 1977, Omega has been at the forefront of holistic education, offering workshops and trainings in integrative medicine, prevention, nutrition, and the mind/body connection; meditation and yoga; cross-cultural arts and creativity; ecumenical spirituality; and social change movements like women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability. Lesser is the author of three books: The Seeker’s Guide, the New York Times best-seller Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow, and Marrow: A Love Story, a memoir about being the donor for her sister’s bone marrow transplant.
