Elizabeth Joseph is a board-certified nurse practitioner and educator on the intersection of planetary and human health. At Jackson Health System in Florida for the past 30 years, she is co-founder and co-chair of the climate committee with a goal of making the hospital carbon neutral. A certified climate speaker, Joseph has presented on environmental justice and the effects of climate change on vulnerable populations at hospitals, academic institutions, conferences and webinars. She also co-chairs the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments Practice Forum. Joseph has volunteered multiple times in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, working to develop nursing content and training guidelines for staff and administration at Bernard Mev Hospital and a sustainable Haitian health care system with Konbit Sante.
