Damon Tweedy is an assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Duke University Medical Center and a staff physician at the Durham Veteran Affairs Medical Center. He is the author of Black Man in a White Coat: A Doctor’s Reflections on Race and Medicine, which was a New York Times best-seller and TIME magazine selection as one of the best nonfiction books of 2015. Tweedy has published articles and columns about race and medicine in The New York Times, The Washington Post, the Chicago Tribune, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, as well as in medical journals such as the Journal of the American Medical Association.
