Claire Dion Fletcher
Registered Midwife, Seventh Generation Midwives and the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives
Claire Dion Fletcher is a Potawatomi-Lenape and mixed-settler registered midwife practicing at Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto. She is presently the aboriginal student coordinator for the Ryerson Midwifery Education Program and sits on the Core Leadership of the National Aboriginal Council of Midwives. Dion Fletcher is completing her master’s degree in gender, feminist, and women’s studies at York University, where her research focuses on decolonized health care and indigenous midwifery. She is committed to the growth of indigenous midwifery in Ontario and the expansion of indigenous content in the midwifery education program at Ryerson University.
