Ciril Jazbec is a freelance documentary photographer and film director, and a contributing photographer for National Geographic Magazine since 2014. His work focuses on communities confronted by the effects of globalization and the climate crisis, whose impacts he aims to raise awareness about in his long-term projects. Jazbec’s work has also been featured in publications such as TIME, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Neu Zürcher Zeitung, and Marie Claire Italy, and has been presented in venues including Les Rencontres d'Arles, The Annenberg Space for Photography, and the Royal Geographical Society. He has received the 2021 World Press Photo Award, Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award, and Pictures of the Year International World Understanding Award, among others.
