Chris Thile

Mandolinist; Singer/Songwriter; Compose

Chris Thile is a Grammy Award-winning mandolinist, singer, songwriter and composer. A multifaceted musical talent, he is a founding member of the string bands Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek, and he has collaborated with artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Fiona Apple and Brad Mehldau. Over the last year, Thile has been touring with Nickel Creek in support of the 2023 album “Celebrants” and performing the biographical composition, “ATTENTION! (a narrative song cycle for extroverted mandolinist and orchestra).” He’s also co-producing, with Claire Coffee and the Punch Brothers, a musical variety show, “The Energy Curfew Music Hour,” to be released on Audible in late 2024. Thile previously hosted “Live From Here With Chris Thile” (formerly “A Prairie Home Companion”) on public radio. He is a MacArthur “genius” grant recipient.
