Chris Evert is a tennis champion and head of Evert Enterprises. Ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the world from 1975 to 1986, she is the first tennis player to win 1,000 singles matches and compiled the second most career match wins at 1,309. Subsequently, Evert established the Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic fundraiser to benefit Chris Evert Charities, which partners with The Ounce of Prevention Fund of Florida and Drug Abuse Foundation of Palm Beach County. She has operated a tennis academy in Boca Raton, FL, and been a contributor and publisher of TENNIS Magazine. Evert has also been an analyst on television and joined ESPN in 2011. She was named the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year in 1974, 1975, 1977, and 1980.
