Carlos Fernandez is the Colorado director for The Nature Conservancy, working with the state chapter’s board of trustees as well as partner organizations, agencies, and elected officials to advance conservation. Previously, he was the organization’s Southern Andes conservation program strategies manager, based in Bariloche, Argentina, where he led the Patagonia team’s efforts to safeguard the grasslands through private lands conservation, sustainable sheep ranching initiatives, and creating and strengthening public protected areas. Prior to that role, Fernandez was the conservancy’s senior foreign legal advisor for South America. Earlier in his career, he worked at international law firms in Buenos Aires and Washington, DC, specializing in corporate and financial transactions.
