Bill Browder
CEO, Hermitage Capital Management; Author, Red Notice: A True Story of High Finance, Murder, and One Man's Fight for Justice
Bill Browder is founder and CEO of Hermitage Capital Management. He is the author of the 2015 New York Times best-seller, Red Notice, which recounts his experience as the largest foreign investor in Russia until 2005, when he was denied entry for exposing corruption there. It’s also the story of Browder’s ongoing fight for justice for his Russian lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, who was killed in a Moscow prison after uncovering and exposing fraud by Russian government officials. Browder’s global campaign to impose visa bans and asset freezes on human rights abusers has resulted in the 2012 Magnitsky Act in the United States, a global bill passed in 2016, and similar action in several other nations.
